Welcome to Alien Garage. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our services and website. By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Alien Garage provides automotive repair, maintenance, and diagnostic services including but not limited to:

  • Vehicle diagnostics and scanning
  • Logbook servicing for all vehicle makes and models
  • Electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance
  • Suspension repairs and replacements
  • Brake services and repairs
  • Engine and transmission services
  • Air conditioning services
  • General automotive repairs and maintenance

2. Appointments and Bookings

2.1 Scheduling

Appointments can be made by phone, email, or through our website. We will confirm all appointments via your preferred contact method.

2.2 Cancellation Policy

We require at least 24 hours' notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling. Failure to provide adequate notice may result in a cancellation fee.

2.3 No-Shows

Customers who fail to attend scheduled appointments without prior notice may be charged a no-show fee and may be required to prepay for future appointments.

3. Estimates and Quotes

3.1 Quotations

All quotes are estimates based on our initial assessment. Final costs may vary if additional work or parts are required once the vehicle is inspected.

3.2 Authorization

We will contact you for authorization before proceeding with any work that exceeds the quoted amount by more than 10% or $100, whichever is less.

3.3 Quote Validity

Written quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise specified.

4. Payment Terms

4.1 Payment Methods

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, and electronic funds transfer. Payment is due upon completion of services unless prior arrangements have been made.

4.2 Parts and Labor

All quoted prices include parts, labor, and applicable taxes unless otherwise specified.

4.3 Diagnostic Fees

Diagnostic fees are charged separately and are payable regardless of whether you proceed with the recommended repairs.

4.4 Late Payment

Overdue accounts may be subject to interest charges and collection costs.

5. Warranty

5.1 Workmanship Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for a period of 12 months or 20,000 kilometers (whichever occurs first) from the date of service completion.

5.2 Parts Warranty

Parts are covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Warranty periods vary depending on the part and manufacturer.

5.3 Warranty Exclusions

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or neglect
  • Modifications or repairs performed by third parties
  • Failure to follow recommended maintenance schedules
  • Consumable items (fluids, filters, wiper blades, etc.)

6. Customer Responsibilities

6.1 Vehicle Condition

You are responsible for informing us of all known vehicle issues and providing accurate information about your vehicle's service history.

6.2 Personal Property

We are not responsible for personal items left in your vehicle. Please remove all valuables before service.

6.3 Keys and Access

You must provide all necessary keys, access codes, and information required to service your vehicle.

6.4 Vehicle Collection

Vehicles must be collected within 7 days of service completion. Storage fees may apply for vehicles left beyond this period.

7. Liability and Limitations

7.1 Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the cost of the services provided. We are not liable for:

  • Consequential or indirect damages
  • Loss of use of the vehicle
  • Loss of income or business opportunities
  • Pre-existing damage or defects not identified during inspection

7.2 Test Drives

Test drives may be necessary to diagnose issues or verify repairs. We will use reasonable care during test drives.

8. Abandoned Vehicles

Vehicles uncollected for more than 30 days after notification may be deemed abandoned. We reserve the right to dispose of abandoned vehicles in accordance with relevant state legislation and recover storage fees and service costs.

9. Data and Technology

9.1 Vehicle Data

Modern vehicles contain electronic control systems that may record operational data. We may access this data for diagnostic purposes.

9.2 Software Updates

Some services may require software updates or recalibration. We will inform you if such updates are necessary.

10. Disputes and Complaints

10.1 Complaint Process

If you are dissatisfied with our services, please contact us immediately. We are committed to resolving all complaints fairly and promptly.

10.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes will be handled in accordance with Australian Consumer Law and Western Australian state regulations.

11. Consumer Rights

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the services supplied again or payment of the cost of having the services supplied again if the services fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

12. Insurance and Third-Party Claims

If your vehicle repairs are being paid by insurance or a third party, you remain responsible for payment if the third party fails to pay.

13. Environmental Compliance

We dispose of all automotive waste, including oils, fluids, batteries, and parts, in accordance with environmental regulations.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on our website with the revision date.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia.
